 | College Advising at All Saints’ focuses on making solid college matches for students. Mr. Alan Ramirez and Ms. Angela Kornman work closely with students and their family as they navigate the college search and application process. Our two College Advisors possess over a decade of combined selective college admission experience, including undergraduate application and scholarship evaluation. In addition to this, they regularly participate in challenging professional development programs across the nation.
Over the course of the school year, students and their families are offered the following:
- College Colloquium: Each year, the Colloquium brings national college admission officials to All Saints’ for a full day of interaction with students, parents and faculty.
- Annual Fall College Fair: Juniors and seniors attend a Tarrant County Independent Schools college fair that attracts more than 150 national admission representatives.
- Formal Admission Representative Visits: Throughout the academic year, hundreds of college admission professionals visit All Saints’ campus for one-on-one interaction with our students.
- College Advising Class: In the fall semester, seniors participate in a course that facilitates the college search and application process and helps them begin the transition from All Saints’ to college life. Once the seniors complete the fall semester, the class shifts to the preparation of juniors, who begin developing resumes as well as planning for college visits and standardized tests.
- Parent Involvement: In addition to meeting with students throughout the year, our College Advisors strive to include parents; the office holds programs and events designed to keep all Upper School parents informed and involved.
- Summer College Essay Workshop: In the summer before the senior year, the College Advisors offer a week-long workshop that aids seniors in the development of their application essay(s). All Saints’ English faculty and visiting college admission representatives also participate and provide students with insight to crafting and improving their essay(s).

Alan RamirezDirector of College Advising East Texas Baptist University - B.A. I grew up in Cedar Hill, TX, but my wife and I currently reside in Dallas, TX. After graduating from Cedar Hill High School, I moved to east Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion and a minor in Business Administration from East Texas Baptist University. During my time in college, I enjoyed traveling across the nation with several non-profit religious organizations, serving in local churches, and working with the admissions staff as a student tour guide. I decided I enjoyed traveling so much that after graduation, I traveled and recruited for East Texas Baptist University, Northwood University and Southern Methodist University, where I was on the Undergraduate Admission staff as a Senior Admission Counselor. |
Angela KornmanAssociate Director of College Advising University of Pittsburgh - M.A. University of Pittsburgh - M.A. Certificate Rhodes College - B.A. A Washington native, I spent my childhood traveling and living in many parts of the world. After graduating from Rhodes College, I received a Master of Arts degree in Pittsburgh. My graduate work, which focused on adolescent decision-making and education, led me back to Rhodes to serve as an Assistant Director of Admission. In this role, I had the pleasure of connecting with students and schools in Texas and the western states. As a college representative, I greatly enjoyed the time I spent advising students and am excited to transition to secondary education and focus my career on college advising.
I am thrilled to join the All Saints’ community and look forward to sharing my passion for helping students and families navigate—and get excited about—the college admission process. |
